International athletics competition

The Décastar is an international combined events meeting that welcomes the world's best athletes to the Pierre Paul Bernard stadium in Talence every year.
If they still need an introduction, these flagship athletics events see all-round athletes compete over two days in 10 events for the decathlon and 7 for the heptathlon.
In each of these events, the athletes' performances are converted into points using the 1984 International Points Table, which assigns a number of points to each performance. Over the course of these events, the competitors accumulate these points and the total achieved by each athlete is used to establish the final ranking.
