Celebration area

Place des Quinconces welcomes the Olympic Torch!

As well as the various events taking place in the towns and villages the Olympic Torch will be travelling through, on 23 May, Place des Quinconces will be home to a celebration area dedicated to the Olympic Torch Relay. The area will be open to the public from 3.30pm, and the final torchbearer will light the cauldron at the start of the evening.

The celebration area will feature a number of different areas and will be open until 7.45pm.

Continuous entertainment from 3:30 p.m.

A community space bringing together Bordeaux MĂ©tropole, the city of Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion and Libourne will offer activities such as surfing simulators, shooting galleries, a photobooth, a giant table football as well as an exhibition on the bearers of the Olympic Flame . You will also have the chance to talk with them.

Paris 2024 partner spaces with Coca-cola, BPCE, Sephora and Sanofi.

A 300m2 central stage will host a variety of sporting, culinary and cultural demonstrations.

A giant 65m2 screen alternating between live coverage of the Olympic Torch Relay in the area and coverage of the various events on the central stage.

Food trucks: there will also be a range of fast-food outlets in the area.

Getting to the celebration area

Access will be via the Monument aux Girondins side.

Park-and-Ride

Located close to tram and bus lines, the 28 park-and-ride car parks (parcs-relais) on the TBM network allow you to easily combine car and public transport to get to the celebration area. Find out more infotbm.com/en/park-and-ride

Motorists are advised to use the park-and-ride facilities on the various bus and tram routes.

Entry conditions

The Olympic Torch Relay celebration area will be open to you in conditions optimised for everyone’s safety: two levels of security access (visual search + pat-down), metal detector, 100% enclosed area, real-time capacity updates.
